God bless the USA!

This Sunday is Veterans Day, which in my opinion is the most underrated holiday of them all. According to Wikipedia a Veteran is someone who has served or who is serving in the armed forces, and has direct exposure to acts of military conflict. This definition does no justice to the sacrifice made by the men and women in our military. Freedom is absolutely not free! Both my husband and I come from military families. My grandfather, my brother, my husband, his grandfather, my husbands best friend (who the girls refer to as Uncle), and many other friends, are just a few of the amazing veterans that have blessed our lives. On Sunday I want to urge you to say a little prayer for those men and women who are currently serving our country. Pray for protection, and strength for both them and the families that they have left behind.

Today, at 1:30, my girls have a Veterans day assembly at their school. I really love this, but cry every year (along with most moms). During the assembly they show pictures of family members who have served or are currently serving, its a special moment and feel blessed to be able to be a part of it. Nadiya will also be singing with her class one of my favorite songs about this great country that we live in. Here are my favorite lyrics:
